Two more Nevisian youths to benefit from MUA/NIA Scholarship

NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (JULY 05, 2017) — Oresia Stapleton and Yolinda Liburd join the list of students who benefit from the Medical University of the Americas/Nevis Island Administration (MUA/NIA) Scholarship, a facility which is available since 1998. 
 
They were announced as the annual scholarship’s awardees for 2017 by Mrs. Nicole Slack-Liburd, Chairperson for the MUA/NIA Scholarship Committee and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, at the Legal Department’s conference room on July 05, 2017. 
 
Stapleton will be pursuing Bachelors of Science Degree in Pre Radiologic Technology at the Midwestern State University in Texas. Liburd will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica.
 
In response, the recipients spoke of what the opportunity meant to them and thanked their benefactors.

NIA announces study opportunities at UVI

NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (MARCH 29, 2017) — The following is a notice from the Human Resource Department in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) regarding opportunities for study at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI).
 
The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis is once again offering scholarship opportunities to the Federation’s graduates of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) as well as the Nevis Sixth Form College.
 
Scholarships are only available to graduates who are interested in undertaking studies at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) for a maximum of (4) four years.
 
Interested graduates can collect Application Forms from the Human Resources Department of the Nevis Island Administration, located on the 2nd floor of the Social Security building at Penny’s Estate.
 
All applications MUST be returned by Wednesday May 10, 2017, along with an original UVI acceptance letter and an original Birth Certificate.

Human Resources Department hosts Leadership Seminar

NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (JULY 09, 2015) – The Department of Human Resources hosted a seminar on July 8, 2015, at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Hall, under the theme “Understanding the Public Service” in efforts to equip civil servants with more knowledge of the Public Service.

Permanent Secretary (Ag) in the Ministry of Human Resources Ornette Herbert expressed that the Nevis Island Administration recognized the importance of senior civil servants understanding the public service and hope that at the end of the seminar persons better understood the service.

Premier of Nevis Hon Vance Amory, who spoke at the opening of the seminar, told the participants that it was with in the best interest of the Nevis Island Administration to find ways to improve public service.
