Dr. Judy Nisbett, Medical Officer of Health in the Ministry of Health on Nevis, says although St. Kitts and Nevis is considered low health risk for the time being, where the outbreak of 2019 coronavirus is concerned, the ministry is taking a proactive approach to sensitise frontline persons at the island’s ports of entry.
Dr. Judy Nisbett, Medical Officer of Health in the Ministry of Health on Nevis, told participants in a Mass Casualty Management System Training exercise that at the end of the one week course they should have a better understanding of their role in a unified response in the event of a mass casualty situation.
The Ministry of Health on Nevis will be better able to execute its outreach programmes, thanks to the gift of a medical vehicle from the Government and people of Japan. The gift is part of a multi-million dollar donation from Japan to assist in health care and disaster management.
