Passport & Visa Services

Saint Kitts and Nevis, a two-island federation in the Caribbean, manages its passport and visa services through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Immigration Department under the Ministry of National Security.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Basseterre issues all categories of Saint Kitts and Nevis Passports (Ordinary, Official, and Diplomatic). Citizens residing overseas can process their applications and renewals through Saint Kitts and Nevis embassies, high commissions, and consulates which transmit them to the Ministry of National Security for processing. Through our Missions, persons may obtain an emergency travel document known as an Emergency Certificate to facilitate urgent travel in cases where a person’s passport is expired, lost, stolen, damaged or otherwise unavailable. This is usually for one-way travel to Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Although consular offices may facilitate citizens overseas with passport applications, the documents are issued by the Immigration Department in Basseterre. Passports are granted to Citizens of Saint Kitts and Nevis, and citizenship is derived from Birth, Descent, Marriage, Registration. For citizenship by investment please visit Citizen by Investment website.
