The Department of Community Development is mandated to empower individuals and communities to identify their needs, set priorities, and actively participate in their social and economic development. The Department builds community capacity through leadership and skills development, community engagement, and manages community centres as hubs for learning, collaboration, cultural expression, and social activities. Through partnerships with community groups, NGOs, youth organizations, schools, and churches, the Department delivers programmes and services that strengthen communities, promote self-reliance, and enhance overall quality of life.
