Miss Carib Brewery St. Kitts-Nevis Ltd, Akiesha Fergus was born on July 10, 1994 under the astrological sign of Cancer. She was raised in the peaceful village of Butlers, where as a child, expression and creativity were important aspects of her playtime. Her favourite pastimes include listening to music, meeting new people and enjoying the adrenaline rush of her favourite sport – drag racing. She is currently employed as a Junior Accounting Clerk at the Nevis Housing and Land Development Corporation. 

 

 

Akiesha is no stranger to the stage and always had a passion for pageantry. At an early age she participated in the Miss St. James Primary and the Talented Youth shows where she placed 1st and 2nd runner up respectively. Her participation in these pageants boosted her self-confidence and public speaking abilities. 

 

As a young woman in today’s society, Akiesha prides herself on being very health conscious and is also an advocate for healthy living. The Healthy Caribbean Coalition has helped her to understand the importance of a healthy body by eating right with a healthy regimen. Akiesha also believes in exercising daily to reduce the risks of chronic diseases that seem to be plaguing many persons within the Caribbean.

 

Along with the importance of health care, Akiesha feels strongly about bringing awareness to the painful issue of Domestic Violence. She feels that too often women find themselves as victims of this epidemic because they are afraid to seek help. No woman should have to endure Mental and Physical abuse at the hands of her partner. Therefore, Akiesha feels that not only is it important to provide victims with effective counselling but as a community we can assist more by providing a safe haven for these women. 

 

Over the years Akiesha has been preparing herself mentally and physically to participate in the Miss Culture pageant and believes with hard work and dedication, she will be successful. She hopes to play a pivotal role in society by becoming an Ambassador and using it as a platform to help bring awareness to Domestic Violence and Healthy Living.
