The Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Housing, Co-operatives and Fisheries of the Nevis Island Administration has general oversight and responsibility for the Departments of Agriculture, Co-operatives and Fisheries as well as the Nevis Housing and Land Development Corporation.

Minister, the Honorable Alexis Jeffers has overall responsibility for the Ministry and he has the services of an Administrative Assistant.

Permanent Secretary Mr. Huey Sargeant is responsible for managing the affairs of the Departments of Agriculture, Co-operatives and Fisheries and he reports directly to the Minister.  Mr. Sargeant is assisted by a senior clerk.  The Ministry recently recruited an employee to assist with Alien Land Holding licenses.

The Nevis Housing and Land Development Corporation (NHLDC) has direct responsibility for the sale and overall management of government lands as well as public housing.  The manager, Mr. Dexter Boncamper reports directly to the Minister.

Nevis Ministry of Health and Gender Affairs offers cooking programme for men

Men on Nevis who wish to learn cooking skills are being given the opportunity to do so by the Ministry of Health and Gender Affairs in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) in a cooking class labelled “Men can Cook”.

Trade and Consumer Affairs Dept. teams up with Dept. of Agriculture in tree planting exercise at Maude Crosse Preparatory School

The Department and Ministry of Agriculture is continues with its tree planting environmentally-friendly initiative at schools and other public and private areas on Nevis, with the planting of a number of fruit trees  at the Maude Crosse Preparatory School on March 13, 2020. The exercise was done in collaboration with the Trade and Consumer Affairs Department.
