The Registrar General Department (RGD) is Nevis sole repository of birth, death, marriage and fetal death records. Activities of the department includes the following:

  • Registering all Vital Events (births, fetal deaths, deaths and marriages) that occurred on the island
  • Monitoring the activities of the District Registrars
  • Issuing certified copies of births, deaths and marriage certificates on request
  • Facilitating record search
  • Amending documents by:
    • Deed Poll
    • Affidavit
    • Court Order
    • Paternity Suit
  • Issuing letters for verification of amendments
  • Public Health Accounting

This can be done in person or by mail.

In Person
Applicants are required to have a valid photo ID and a EC$10.00 Stamp
Collecting on behalf of someone

  1. A signed letter of consent and a valid Photo ID of the person. Please note that if that person is overseas, a Notarized letter of Consent along with a copy of a valid Photo ID is required.
  2. A valid photo ID of the person collecting
  3. EC$10.00 stamp
  4. *NB: For Marriages done by the Magistrate EC$10.00 Cash is required

Mail Order Payment: We accept International Postal Money Order (to cover Stamp Fee and Postage)
