CHARLESTOWN,NEVIS (Friday, August 3, 2012)– Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Joseph who was given a tour of the Nelson Spring Development – the Hamilton this week, applauded the tenacity and entrepreneurial skills of local investors, Mr. Deon Daniel and Associates who are developers of the Hamilton, and Mr. Greg Hardtman and Associates who are the developers of Tamarind Cove Marina and Village.

Both developments are located on Nevis’ scenic west, an area often described by Nevis Premier Joseph Parry as the Gold Coast, because of its obvious potential for touristic development.

“It is great to see local persons take the initiative and enter a business arena rarely touched by Nevisians, I applaud the men for their faith in themselves and in their government to develop projects of this magnitude,” commented the Hon. Joseph Parry.

The Hamilton development consist of 80 condominiums with 1 or 2 bedroom units, which are upscale and geared to the high-end market.

At the end of 2012, the Hamilton intends to have a “soft” opening where a majority of the units will be finished and occupied.

According to the Project Manager of the Hamilton, Mr. Carl Lewis, about 95% of the construction workers are locals and when the project is done about 50 permanent workers will be needed to service the owners

“We try as much as possible to provide employment for locals and where possible with the support of the Government we have tried to make sure things run smoothly, and though we have had challenges we have overcome them, and we are meeting our deadlines,” said Project Manager Lewis.

Meanwhile, further up the west coast, the first-of-its-kind on Nevis, Tamarind Cove Marina and Village, will feature a high-end, full service marina with up to 100 boat slips for yachts of all sizes, and will also include a small boutique hotel and spa, shops, a yacht club with a lounge, restaurant and members-only casino.

“Step aside St. Barths and Monte Carlo there is a new elite yachting and luxury lifestyle destination, and it is Nevis in the West Indies,” commented developer Mr. Greg Hardtman.

According to Mr. Hardtman, The Tamarind Cove Marina project will create many jobs for locals during the construction phase, and in excess of 100 permanent jobs on completion.

The project is an important plank in the plans of the NRP-led Nevis Island Administration to develop investment opportunities on Nevis and diversify the economy.

Premier Parry said that he is pleased that during these economically challenging times, it is great to see local investors employing local workers. He said that Nevis is seeing renewed local investor confidence largely due to the Nevis Reformation Party Nevis Island Administration’s good governance and developmental thrust.
