a) Oshana Edwards: This 11 year old loves singing, dancing, dramatizing and reading. Her favourite subject is Mathematics because it’s challenging and Oshana loves a challenge. She wants to become a teacher because in her words, “Teaching is fun and I love children”. The issue affecting youths in her words is Gangs and she would like counselors to speak to the youths in the communities.

 

b) Ayinde George: 10 year old Ayinde loves football and singing and also plays the African drum and Steel Pan. His favourite subject is Mathematics because he finds it easy and its helps him understand other subjects. He wants to become a professional footballer because he enjoys playing the sport and it is one of the activities that he is familiar with. The issue affecting youths in his words is children taking drugs at a young age and bringing it into the schools and he would like parents and teachers to educate children about drugs and why it is wrong to use them.
