NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (March 04, 2013) — The eight-member Board of Directors of the Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA) was officially announced by Deputy Premier of Nevis and Minister of Tourism in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) Hon. Mark Brantley. The event took place at the Authority’s Board Room on March 04, 2013.

According to Mr. Brantley, the new Board will be led by Businessman Mr. Greg Phillip who would serve as Chairman with Co-General Manager of the Nisbet Plantation Beach Club Mrs. L. Hall serving as Deputy Chair. The other Members are Four Seasons Resort Nevis Manager Mr. Sven Wiedenhaupt, Restaurateur Mr. Randy Jeffers, NIA Representative and Treasurer Mr. Colin Dore, Hotelier Mr. Richard Lupinacci, Restaurateur Mr. Gary Colt and TDC Group of Companies Executive Mr. Ernie France. The Tourism Minister registered gratitude for their willingness to serve with no remittance over the next two years.

“I take this opportunity also to advise that this Board is entirely voluntary. Each and every member of this Board has agreed to provide their service to the Board for free, which is a departure from what it has been in the past and a return to the original concept of the NTA Board – that is professionals in the Industry making a contribution.

“So I think that I would want to publicly thank the members as well for agreeing to make that contribution at no cost to the public purse,” he said.

The NTA Board of Directors was the third group of Directors the Minister announced recently and explained it was all a part of the Administration’s promise of transparency.

“I thought it important again in the new Administration’s thrust for openness and transparency that we introduce the people who are going to be the managing, the people who are going to be directing the key institutions that drive Nevis forward,” he said.

Also present was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NTA Mr. John Hanley.
