NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (July 4, 2019) – The following is the full text of a press release issued by the the Ministry of Communications and Works.
The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) funded Nevis Water Supply Enhancement Project which started in earnest in 2011 came to an end on 30th June 2019. The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) signed a grant agreement on 11 August, 2010 followed by a loan agreement on 17 February, 2011.
Mr. Brian Kennedy, Water Engineer, who worked as Water Development Engineer from 2006 to April 2011 with the Ministry of Communications and Works, was appointed on contract as the Project Coordinator for this project. Actual civil works started in 2013. Mr. Kennedy’s tenure with the project and the NIA officially came to an end on the 30 June 2019.
The Ministry of Communications and Works and by extension, the NIA, records its sincerest gratitude and thanks to Mr. Brian Kennedy for his sterling contribution to the success of this project and to the water sector on Nevis as a whole. Mr. Brian Kennedy’s work in the water sector spanned many years prior to his appointment as Project Coordinator, when he served as Project Manager for a European development funded water project on Nevis and later as Engineer/Manager of the Nevis Water Department (NWD).
