School re-opening for CSS and GSS rescheduled

NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (August 29, 2014) — Parents and students of the Charlestown Secondary School (CSS) and the Gingerland Secondary School (GSS), have been advised that due to ongoing repairs at both schools, they  will be re-opened on Thursday, September 04, 2014 and not on September 01, as was previously stated.

According to a notice from the Nevis Island Administration’s (NIA) Ministry of Education on August 29, 2014, the Ministry regretted the delay and explained that the decision was made due to the need to complete necessary repairs, to ensure that the environment at the schools was satisfactory for the students and teachers.

However, teachers have been asked to report to duty on Monday, September 01, as previously planned. Students have been requested to report to school on Wednesday, September 03, to assist with the usual arrangement and cleaning activity, in preparation for the official start of school on Thursday, September 04, 2014.
