Study opportunities available at universities in Brazil

NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (June 19, 2019) — The following is an announcement from the Ministry of Human Resources on Nevis dated June 19, 2019, regarding the Brazil Scholarship Programme 2019.

The Ministry of Human Resources in the Nevis Island Administration is pleased to forward the following information regarding the availability of scholarships.

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Coimbra Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB), with the support of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)/ World Health Organization (WHO), are launching the ninth consecutive edition of this programme by offering scholarship opportunities to outstanding citizens of OAS member states, to pursue studies in Master’s or Doctoral programmes at universities in Brazil.

Some benefits of the program are:

  • Full tuition waiver
  • Partial Monthly stipend for living expenses
  • A one-time grant of US$1,200 to be disbursed to the first 150 ranked candidates once the student arrives at the university
  • Free Portuguese language support

The benefits are available for up to 24 months for Masters, and 48 months for Doctoral degrees. More than 200 Masters and Doctoral studies in various areas of knowledge are accessible.

Kindly note as well that the modality of learning is onsite in Brazil, and the language of instruction is Portuguese. However, proficiency in Portuguese is not required to apply.
