Four new Government edifices to open before year end
Premier Parry also gave comments on the Charlestown Market and had high praise for the construction team.
“A great job was done on the Charlestown Market and I have to commend Mr. Meredith Hendrickson and his team who did excellent work on the construction of the market,” noted the Premier.
Hon. Joseph Parry also noted that the Public Market will be very modern and outfitted with refrigerators and other appliances.
During the radio programme, the Premier also announced that the Public Market will be named posthumously in honour of Mr. George Mowbray Hanley who was the Charlestown Market keeper for over 25 years.
“He was a great icon in Charlestown and I am very glad that the Market will be named after him,” concluded Premier Parry.
Meanwhile, the grand opening of the Fountain Community Center has been slated to take place on Thursday, December 15th and the Charlestown Public Market on Friday December 16th. On Saturday, December 17th, the Cotton Ground Community Center has been scheduled to be official opened and a tentative date has been set for the official opening of the Cotton Ground Police Station on Thursday, December 22nd.
