Integrity Commission office officially opens on Nevis
NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (June 07, 2019) — The following is an announcement from the Integrity Commission on Nevis regarding the opening of its office.
The Integrity Commission for the Island of Nevis wishes to inform the general public that effective Monday June 03, 2019 its office is now open for business, upstairs the Rams Shopping Complex located at Stoney Grove, St. John’s Parish in Nevis.
The Integrity in Public Life Ordinance, No. 2 of 2013 is an Ordinance establishing the Integrity Commission in order to ensure integrity in public life, to make provisions for a Code of Conduct, to obtain declarations of the assets, liabilities, income and interest in relation to property of persons in public life, for the offences and abuse of office and to provide for related or incidental matters.
The Commission pledges its commitment to promote good governance through the rule of law, to guarantee transparency and accountability. The Commission assures the general public that steps will be taken to ensure that all confidential and sensitive information shared with the office, remains confidential.
The commissioners are: Mr. Ricaldo V. Caines, Attorney-at-Law, Chairman of the Commission; Mr. G. Sydney Newton, Banker, Commissioner; and Mr. Alford Tyrell, Banker, Commissioner.
