NIA announces vacancies in the Min. of Health
NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (MAY 29, 2019) — The following is an announcement from the Ministry of Human Resources in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) dated March 20, 2019, pertaining to vacancies in the Ministry of Health.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following posts in the Nevis Island Administration:
Director, Gender Affairs
Primary Purpose: The Director is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a gender equality action plan for the Nevis Island Administration. These may be achieved through:
The management and reporting of the National Gender Equality Action Plan;
The management of the staff and resources;
Lead a gender equality implementation team;
Lead the mobilisation of strategic partners and resources.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant must possess:
- A Master’s Degree or equivalent in development related disciplines, Economics or public policy or other social science fields.
- Experience in the field of Gender Affairs and Human Rights
- Experience in leading a team
- Skilled in establishing interrelationships among national, regional and international organization
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Salary is commensurate with the public service structure within the Nevis Island Administration.
Senior Environmental Health Officer I, Environmental Health
Primary Purpose: The Senior Environmental Health Officer I is responsible to the Principal Environmental Health Officer, and he/she ensures compliance with the Public Health Act Cap 9, 21 and any other relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant must possess:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health or Public Health or related field along with an associate degree in Environmental Health or Post Basic/Advance Diploma in Environmental Health
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Salary is commensurate with the public service structure within the Nevis Island Administration.
