CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS (Thursday, July 5, 2012)– Premier and Minister of Education, the Hon. Joseph Parry has lauded the Department of Library Services for organizing the first-ever Nevis Book Fair, to be held on July 27, 2012 at the Villa in Charlestown.

“As Minister of Education and Library Services, I am so pleased that visitors and residents can purchase books published by Nevisians or persons of Nevisian descent whether at home or in the diaspora”, said Premier Parry. He said this is good for promoting Nevisian authors, and it is important to get young people on Nevis exposed to local writers.

According to Director of Library Services Mrs. Sonita Daniel, Kittitian authors are also welcomed to be part of the event.

“This event forms part of the activities for Culturama 2012, and we want patrons of the Book Fair to spend time in the company of local book authors”, Mrs. Daniel said. “This is an opportunity to display, sell and hear of the works of the authors”, she said.
