Premier Parry expresses elation over Inaugural flight of Fly Montserrat

CHARLESTOWN,NEVIS (Monday, June 4th,2012)–Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Joseph Parry expressed elation with Fly Montserrat’ airlines inaugural flight which left Nevis for Antigua then Montserrat on Monday morning.

“It is with great joy that Fly Montserrat will help bring travelers from Nevis to Antigua which is a gateway to North American and many European countries,” said the Premier.

During the ceremony held at the Nevis Airport ahead of the inaugural flight, Director of Fly Montserrat, Captain Nigel Harris said that the airline is very suitable and convenient for connecting passengers arriving in Antigua on British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines and Air Canada. According to Mr. Harris, Fly Montserrat would allow travelers to get to Nevis the same day.

When asked by the Department of Information how much baggage is allowed per customer, Mr. Harris said, “each customer is allowed one 50lb bag and one carry-on.”

Meanwhile, the Montserrat-based airline Fly Montserrat has set its fares between Antigua and Nevis. Single-base fares are set at US $114 plus taxes, and for Nevis to Montserrat at US$198 plus taxes for day trippers.
