Nevis Island Assembly to meet for first time since January local elections
NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (March 25, 2013) –The first sitting of the Nevis Island Assembly since the January 22, local elections, will commence on March 26, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. at the Assembly Chambers, Hamilton House on Samuel Hunkins Drive.
According to the Order Paper circulated by Clerk of the Nevis Island Assembly, the opening session will begin with the formal entry of elected members followed by prayers. The Reading of Proclamation will come next after which there will be the Election of the President of the Assembly and the oaths will be administered to members.

The House will then be suspended to make way for the arrival of the Deputy Governor General His Honour Eustace John, after which the Assembly will resume.
The Deputy Governor General will deliver the Throne Speech and at the end, he is expected to depart from the House of Assembly.
Announcements will then be made by the President, followed by Motions and the eventual adjournment of the Assembly’s sitting.
It will be the first sitting of the Assembly after the January 22nd local elections on Nevis which saw the election of the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) to public office, to serve the people of Nevis for the next five years.
