The section of road from Big Rock to the Social Security road junction of the Craddock Road Rehabilitation Project is completed, following the final asphalting by the Public Works Department (PWD) on Friday, March 13, 2020. Work had commenced on that portion of the project in late January 2020.

A stretch of road constructed by the Nevis Housing and Land Development Corporation (NHLDC) in Phase 2 at Colquhoun Housing Development in Colquhoun Estate, was officially commissioned at a ceremony on February 13, 2020.

Two British World Heritage specialists have given the Bath Hotel, Bath Stream and Fort Charles at Bath Village on Nevis thumbs up and referred to them as a remarkable heritage sites. They were at the time meeting with Hon. Eric Evelyn, Minister of Culture, and Hon. Spencer Brand, whose ministry is engaged in the ongoing Restoration Project at Fort Charles. Rehabilitation work will commence on Lower Happy Hill Drive on January 26, 2020, as part of the Ministry of Communications and Works’ Road Rehabilitation Project. The 208 feet of roadway spans from the Island Main Road intersection heading westwards to the Charlestown waterfront.

The Nevis Water Department is in the process of redeveloping a water in Hamilton as part of the Nevis Island Administration’s efforts to provide more water to the island’s water system.

The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) has placed the issue of crime high on its agenda. Hon. Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis and other Cabinet members, met with the leadership of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) Nevis Division on January 24, 2018, to discuss the issue of crime on Nevis.

Hon. Spencer Brand, Minister of Labour, Public Works, Physical Planning, Posts and Environment in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) is urging civil servants on Nevis to stop taking advantage of the mechanisms in place for sick leave and leave of absence.

The Cabinet of the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) met for the first time on December 28, 2017, at the Cabinet Room at Pinney’s Estate, four days after they were sworn into office at an inauguration ceremony at the Elquemedo T. Willett Park on December 24, 2017.
