Two new ambulances attached to the Alexandra Hospital on Nevis were commissioned during a handing over ceremony at the hospital’s grounds on August 28, 2020. The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) in partnership with the St. Christopher and Nevis Social Security Board purchased the medically equipped vehicles.

 The Nevis Island Administration continues to make strides to provide better health care on the island of Nevis. On March 14, 2019, a brand new Philips Affiniti Ultrasound system was commissioned at the Alexandra Hospital.

This year it will be held on the island’s six health centres on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

In its bid to continue strengthening the human resource capacity to improve health care at the Alexandra Hospital on Nevis, the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) through the Ministry of Health, added the services of qualified personnel to the existing staff at the facility in 2018.

Members of the public utilising services at the Alexandra Hospital are urged to pay their bills in a timely manner especially as the Ministry of Health has devised systems already in place to assist.

NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (June 12, 2018) –The Ministry of Health on Nevis will soon have the ability to produce its own electronic information and promotion material as it promotes healthy lifestyles in a bid to reduce chronic diseases on the island, thanks to another gift from the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) has placed the issue of crime high on its agenda. Hon. Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis and other Cabinet members, met with the leadership of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) Nevis Division on January 24, 2018, to discuss the issue of crime on Nevis.

Urologist Dr. Dwayne Thwaites, who is based in the United States of America, says the result of 11 years of prostate screening clinics on Nevis is evident and he is comfortable with the decreased rate of prostate cancer in the island’s male population.
